Before we get into why you need to use it, what exactly is African Black Soap?..
African black soap, or black soap is a kind of soap originating in West Africa. It is made from the ash of locally harvested African plants and dried peels, which gives the soap its characteristic dark colour.
Our African Black Soap comes in two forms, the traditional bar soap and also a liquid version which comes with a pump for less mess and easier use. Both are completely raw and natural, imported directly from Ghana in West Africa.
The many benefits you can gain from using African Black Soap regularly includes that it:
- Calms and clears blemishes
- Treats hyperpigmentation
- Clears troubled acne-prone skin
- Fades and reduces dark spots
- Evens skin discolouration
A key point to note is that African Black Soap works particularly well to relieve symptoms of eczema or psoriasis. It is great for all skin types whether you have oily, dry or combination skin. It will regulate your skin’s oil production and pH level, so that it doesn’t feel greasy or dry after use.
Don't just take our word for it though, here's what a couple of our Kiya Beauties have to say about our African Black Soap:
I’ve been using this on my face and body for about two weeks and I’m seeing great results already! I have dry, sensitive skin and suffer with mild eczema, so I’m cautious about using new products, especially on my face. Its black soap, so naturally your skin is left squeaky clean and it’s not as moisturising as i’m used too. But I’m pleasantly surprised at how clear and even my skin has been. Even though it takes a few pumps to get it nice and soapy, I would definitely recommend it. It’s all natural ingredients, in a handy pump was a selling point for me, so I will be making another purchase at some point.
Always wanted to try African black soap but not keen on bars. When I seen liquid form, I was sold. It made my skin feel softer after the first use and after a couple of weeks of using once a day, I notice the difference in my skin. It appeared smoother and skin tone more even. I won’t stop using this now.
Okay I'm sold, so how do I use it?
On your face: Wet your face with lukewarm water and use your fingertips to apply. Rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry with a soft towel.
On your body: Wet your skin in the shower or bath, lather some of your chosen Black Soap on your hands and use a washcloth or a loofah to apply it to your skin. Rinse it off and pat dry with a towel.
And thats it, but if you aren't already clear on Why you need to use African Black Soap it's simple!
Our AFRICAN BLACK SOAP has natural anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties that deeply and gently cleanse, moisturise and comfort irritated and troubled skin while absorbing excess oil to maintain perfect balance!
